Cloche Pattern Pdf Free Download Sew

Hats have always been one of my favorite things to crochet because they are quick and they actually have a useful purpose. Plus, there are so many different styles of hats. And, since it is getting cooler where I am from, it is the perfect time to start making hats for the upcoming winter.

I love buffalo plaid and I really love trying to put different colors together than the usual red and black. I decided I wanted to try and work it flat and seam the side and the top, instead of working it in the round.

I used We Crochet Galileo which is sport weight and a d-3.75 mm hook.

This pattern has instructions for sizes newborn to adult. Each size is separated to make it easier to follow.

 Materials

1 skein each, Knit Picks Galileo in Bare(MC),Lunar (CC1) and Pearl (CC2)

D-3.75 mm needles

Fur Pom Pom

Tapestry needle

Stitch markers


Abbreviations

Ch=chain

Sc= single crochet

Hdc= half double crochet

Dc=double crochet

Special Stitches

Fpdc=dc around the front post of previous rows stitch

Bpdc= dc around the back post of the previous rows stitch

Notes

This hat is worked flat, then seamed together on the side and top. Pattern for each size is separated to make it easier to follow. You will be switching between 2 colors each row.

Instructions

Adult

 Base row:

with MC Chain 38. Sc in 3rd stitch from hook and each across.

Row 1-3:With MC, Ch 2(counts as 1st hdc),hdc in next 3 stitches.* With CC2, hdc in next 4 stitches. Switch back to Mc and hdc in next 4 stitches. * Repeat from * across.

Row 4-6: With CC2, ch 2( counts as 1st hdc), hdc in next 3 stitches. *With CC1, hdc in next 4. With CC2, hdc in next 4.* Repeat from * across row.

Row 7- 69 : Using the chart as a guide, continue in the established pattern.

Fasten off.

Fold piece in half (from starting row to ending row) and seam together.

Ribbing:

Attach CC1 to the bottom of the hat and dc evenly around. Make sure the final count is an even number. Slst to 1st stich to join.

Rnd 1-2: Ch 3,* Bpdc in next st. Fpdc in next.  Repeat from * around. SLST to top of ch-3.

Fasten off.

Chi ld

Base row: with MC Chain 36,  Sc in 3rd stitch from hook and each across.

Row 1-3:With MC, Ch 2(counts as 1st hdc),hdc in next 3 stitches.* With CC2, hdc in next 4 stitches. Switch back to Mc and hdc in next 4 stitches. * Repeat from * across.

Row 4-6: With CC2, ch 2( counts as 1st hdc), hdc in next 3 stitches. *With CC1, hdc in next 4. With CC2, hdc in next 4.* Repeat from * across row.

Row 7- 66 : Using the chart as a guide, continue in the established pattern, repeating rows 1-6.

 Fasten off.

Row 7- 60 : Using the chart as a guide, continue in the established pattern.

Fasten off.

Row 7- 51 : Using the chart as a guide, continue in the established pattern,repeating rows 1-6.

 Fasten off.

Weave in all of the ends. Sew top of hat closed. Sew pom on to top of hat.
